My poster against Domestic violence and social blindness actually reminded me of the book from the Portuguese writer Jose Saramago, called ‘Blindness’. The book was recently made into film, I don’t know if you guys watched it, but if not I REALLY recommend that you do.
I know there were some bad comments about it going around, but in my opinion that is because people didn’t really understand the concepts and philosophies behind the story. The movie is centered around a simple idea: what if everyone suddenly went blind? what would be the socio-economical effects of that? Would the world simply collapse? How much do we depend on our senses and what goes beyond that? All this sure gives you a LOT to think about.
Saramago actually wrote a series of books with questions of that kind, such as ‘what if everyone stopped voting’ and ‘what if no one died anymore?’ The latter is called Death with Interruptions, I’m probably going to buy it today!
You might not want to see the movie and read the books like me, but I hope that at least reading this post inspires you to THINK more and QUESTION more simple things that can deep down mean a lot to everyone.
